We turn the Authentic Marathon, into the world’s first green Marathon!

Polygreen, along with its Just Go Zero movement, becomes the Exclusive Supporter of the Environmental Program and minimizes the environmental footprint of the 39th Authentic Marathon of Athens. Through the following initiatives, we set the green example globally, from the country that gave birth to this leading sporting event

Bags made of 100% recycled material

Τhe plastic bags, which were given to runners for their personal belongings, are being replaced with 50.000 bags, made of 100% recycled plastic, which has been produced by 140.800 plastic bottles.

Ready. Steady. Recycle.

Staying true to the vision for a world where nothing is in excess, we “equip” the race’s starting point and the MARATHON EXPO with recycle bins for clothes and shoes, inviting you to give a second chance to what you do not wear anymore. Visit the EXPO, at the Faliro Indoor Hall (TAE KWON DO) and bring the clothes and the shoes that you want to recycle! We will be there! WHEN: 09/11: 13.00 – 20.00 & 10/11, 11/11, 12/11: 10.00 – 20.00

Resources Management

By placing recycling bins at the starting point and after the finish line of the Authentic Marathon of Athens, we undertake the task of collecting and recycling all the recyclable materials, produced by the race. We are also committed to managing all the materials that will arise at the OPAP Marathon EXPO.
